The team behind the wildly popular Mutant Cats NFT project wanted to evolve their avatar collection into a fully realized entertainment IP. Their goal was to add depth, personality, and cohesive mythology that could build long-term fan engagement — not just as NFTs, but as characters in a world with story potential across multiple mediums.
-
Morgan and the team developed the entire Mutant Cats universe from the ground up. What began as a request for simple lore became a massive multi-medium initiative:
A full-length graphic novel that served as the narrative backbone of the entire campaign.
A fully conceived animated TV series pitch, complete with tone, characters, arc structure, and visual direction.
A comprehensive series bible, outlining the world, factions, mythology, key characters, story engines, and long-term episodic potential.
The narrative tone embraced chaotic humor and anarchic energy while grounding the world with emotional stakes and consistent logic. The result was a vibrant, fully developed IP capable of expansion across animation, comics, and beyond.

THE STORY
-
But with all great inventions, hubris is always a problem. The Mutant Labs higher-ups want the Cluster ready for market “yesterday”, forcing project leader Flux and his team of idiot geniuses to scramble and cut some corners to get it working in time for the big event. But taking shortcuts can be dangerous when you’re working with that interdimensional energy type stuff.
With realities overlapping, we’ve now entered the Mutantverse. And let me tell you, it’s a real cluster fu@%.
