a “Choose Your Own Adventure” themed video game, but with friends.

Below are the three stories Morgan wrote and created for the client. These three stories had the highest “Player completion rate” among all of their various stories (games). Which means that players were more likely to complete the game all the way through for my stories.

Red Riding Hood, having recently survived an attack by a special “wolf-like” creature that abducted her grandmother, seeks out the famed huntress, Sam Van Helsing to help her catch the creature responsible. Amidst their quest to find the creature, the unlikely duo encounter a host of other familiar characters (and monsters) which include the likes of Drake (Dracula), Dr. Hyde, the All Mother (The Mummy), Thulu (Cthulhu), and more…

The zombie outbreak is ancient history. The new normal is segregated societies.  One for humans and one for zombies. There is an understanding.  You don’t bother us, we don’t bother you. But when a Zombie is murdered by a suspected human, the peace between the two societies hangs in the balance.  An investigation is put into action where a human and a zombie investigator must work together to uncover the truth.

Sunny Hills High is your typical suburban high school. But when a group of students go missing, only to magically return 1 week later now acting completely different, Kelsey and Ruby Creed suspect something “unnatural” has happened to them. Pretty soon, the entire community start acting strangely too.  The Creed sisters decide to launch an investigation of their own to find out what’s really going on. Now they must learn to get along and trust one another if they are going to uncover the mystery, before it takes them too.

Crossroad Tales

Client: MIXI (Japanese Mobile Game Company)
Medium: Mobile Game Narrative (Choose-Your-Own-Adventure / Branching Dialogue)
Roles: Narrative Director, Lead Writer

  • MIXI, one of Japan’s major mobile gaming companies, needed original narrative content for the U.S. expansion of their interactive mobile title. Rather than localizing or adapting their existing stories, they wanted entirely new, American-market-focused narratives that could broaden the game’s appeal and introduce fresh characters, themes, and emotional hooks tailored for Western audiences.

  • Morgan was hired to write a series of brand-new choose-your-own-adventure–style scripts, building original storylines from scratch. These interactive narratives were designed with multiple branching paths, character-driven choices, and varied emotional outcomes — giving players a sense of agency while maintaining coherent thematic arcs. Morgan also provided narrative direction for the project to ensure tone, structure, and story logic all supported MIXI’s vision for its U.S. rollout.

    • Wrote multiple original interactive stories specifically for MIXI’s American market launch.

    • Crafted branching dialogue trees with diverse outcomes, emotional beats, and replay value.

    • Served as Narrative Director, guiding story logic, pacing, tone, and character consistency.

    • Developed story frameworks that balanced non-linear design with cohesive narrative flow.

    • Collaborated with producers and designers to integrate narrative paths into gameplay systems.

    • Ensured cultural and emotional relevance for Western audiences without losing MIXI’s stylistic identity.

Sample Script

Here is an excerpt from the original script and story that Morgan wrote and created (Once Upon a Nightmare). The final script was formatted into the standard video game script excel sheet, but for ease of reading, it is being presented in a word doc (PDF).

Morgan also designed the characters

    • Provided MIXI with a library of completely original, Western-market-ready story content.

    • Elevated the game’s narrative depth through rich, replayable branching paths.

    • Helped support MIXI’s strategic expansion into the American mobile gaming market.

    • Strengthened emotional and narrative engagement for a diverse player base.

  • This project demonstrates Morgan’s ability to design non-linear, choice-driven narratives at a professional game industry level, crafting original stories that work seamlessly within interactive systems while serving cross-cultural audience goals. It showcases his strength in both story creation and narrative direction for global gaming brands.
