IMAGINE: Tears of a Fallen Star

Client: Imagine Music Festival (Georgia-based EDM Festival)
Medium: Graphic Novel (Festival Origin Story / Branded Narrative)
Roles: Creative Director, Writer, Worldbuilder

  • Imagine Music Festival wanted to set themselves apart from the wave of fantasy-themed EDM festivals by creating an origin story with real emotional depth. Their goal was to give the festival a heart — a narrative that reflected their core values of love, community, freedom, and respect, while enriching the already stunning visuals of their live experience.

  • Morgan interviewed the festival’s founders (a real-life husband and wife) to understand the emotional truth behind the festival: the love story, shared vision, and values that shaped it. He then reinvented the founders as star-crossed lovers in a sweeping cosmic narrative, transforming their personal journey into an epic science-fantasy myth. This story became the graphic novel “Tears of a Fallen Star,” serving as the official fictional backstory of Imagine Festival.

    • Conducted interviews with the founders to extract authentic themes and emotional core.

    • Wrote the full narrative for “Tears of a Fallen Star,” blending romance, mythology, and science-fantasy.

    • Reimagined the founders as narrative characters with symbolic arcs tied to festival values.

    • Directed the graphic novel’s tone, pacing, and visual storytelling approach.

    • Collaborated closely with illustrators to craft a cohesive world aesthetic.

    • Ensured the story enriched festival identity and could be integrated into signage, set pieces, and fan engagement.

The Story

A group of 5 strangers become unlikely friends when they discover a crashed asteroid in a secluded area just outside Atlanta. But what they find inside the asteroid appears to be some sort of portal to another world entirely…
