PREMISE~

In Ethera, you either rule or be ruled. The Empire of Numa Sera holds sovereignty over the continent. But following the death of their ambitious Emperor, his adolescent daughter has inherited the throne. With a child in power, the “One True Kingdom” now finds itself vulnerable as others seek to overcome its supremacy.

This is the story of four individuals who must fight to make their own fate. Or fall prey to someone else’s. We follow Lelia, the child Empress with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Kelesandra, the Baron’s daughter who seeks a life, which is forbidden. Krill, a stable boy framed for murder. And Sjorsja, a warrior who seeks to change the ways of his people.

Will they seize the moment? Or bend to fear? Because in this world, there is no in between. You either reign. Or hail.

I’ve been working with my team to adapt our story into a tabletop board game for the last 3 years. It’s an ambitious project, but one I am very excited about. As true with most game adaptations, the challenge was to create an enthralling playable experience that felt cohesive with the source material, but that could also stand on its own without needing to have read the graphic novels. I co-created and co-designed this entire game, from how it plays, to how it looks, and everything in between.
